POSITION : Care Centre Manager
EMPLOYER : Christine Buckley Centre for Education & Support CLG
The Centre supports survivors of Industrial Schools, Magdalene Laundries, Mother and Child institutions by providing educational, recreational and therapeutic classes, holistic supports and other assistance as they endeavour to rebuild their lives.
The Manager will be operating on a four-day week basis and will be responsible for the day to day management of the Centre located off Upper Abbey Street in Dublin City centre. The Manager will lead a small team of part time staff, tutors and volunteers, act as Media spokesperson as a voice for survivors and drive forward the charity’s services to survivors. The Contract is for 24-32 hours per week, subject to negotiation.
The Manger’s role involves administrative tasks, working with the Directors, supervision of support workers and volunteers; Making clients welcome and creating a purposeful and caring atmosphere.
Minimum five year’s experience as Manager preferably in charity, social work, trauma informed practice, social work, nursing, fund raising and / or educational sectors.
Excellent Administrative and Cost Control and Organisational skills.
A knowledge of issues relating to policies on safeguarding vulnerable adults, adult mental health as well as issues relating to institutional and other forms of abuse.
Knowledge of public bodies and how Irish Charities are funded and governed.
Counselling experience with post trauma work as well as advocacy skills would be an advantage.
- SALARY: €35,000 to €42,000 per annum.
- WORKING WEEK: 4 days Tuesday to Friday
